About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Disability Care Professional to join our team at Endeavour Foundation. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting young people with disabilities as they transition into adulthood.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide person-centred, trauma-informed care to support young people in building independence through personalised care plans.
  • Support young people with physical, intellectual, or psychosocial impairments in daily living activities, such as dressing, bathing, and medication management.
  • Empower young people to develop life skills, including meal preparation, household chores, and cleaning.
  • Facilitate participation in community activities and manage logistics involved.
  • Support engagement in education, vocational activities, and skill development.
  • Help young people build social skills and maintain relationships with family, peers, and social networks.
  • Provide emotional support, apply regulation strategies, and manage distress or escalation.
  • Accompany young people to appointments, ensuring their needs and opinions are respected.
  • Organise and support leisure activities, encouraging hobbies and personal interests.
  • Maintain accurate case notes, complete shift handovers, and follow incident reporting protocols.
Requirements
  • Minimum Certificate 4 in a related discipline, with preference given to Youth Work and human services qualifications.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in Youth Work, Disability Support or relevant field.
  • Previous experience as a Youth Worker within a disability context with demonstrated experience of trauma-informed care will be highly regarded.
  • Proficient computer skills and experience using Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Hold or be willing to obtain a Working with Children Check (Blue Card), NDIS Worker Screening Check (Yellow Card), Child Safety and Personal History Screening Check (LCS2), First Aid, CPR, National Criminal History Check (Fit2Work), and an open Drivers License with comprehensive insurance on your vehicle.
