Job Title: Maintenance Manager

Job Overview:

The Maintenance Manager will oversee all aspects of maintenance, safety, and building performance. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives on variety, values high standards of presentation, and is ready to tackle everything from preventative maintenance to emergency repairs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all maintenance operations, ensuring reactive and scheduled works are completed to a high standard and within set timeframes.
  • Manage resident repair requests from diagnosis through to resolution, minimizing disruption and ensuring maximum satisfaction.
  • Lead, coach, and support a team of Maintenance Technicians, including recruitment, training, performance reviews, and day-to-day supervision.
  • Develop and deliver preventative maintenance plans to ensure buildings, plant, and equipment remain safe, compliant, and fully operational.
  • Conduct regular inspections of apartments, communal areas, systems, and external spaces to uphold safety, appearance, and functionality.
  • Manage compliance testing and statutory checks, keeping accurate records.
  • Coordinate external contractors and suppliers, ensuring work meets scope, quality, safety, and expectations.
  • Respond to emergency call-outs, taking ownership of urgent maintenance issues and resolutions.

Requirements:

You'll bring:

  • Hands-on maintenance experience in residential, hospitality, student housing, or trades.
  • Knowledge of WHS, risk management, and preventative maintenance systems.
  • Experience supervising contractors and maintaining compliance across high-quality residential buildings.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage residents and lead in a service-focused setting.
  • A proactive and independent mindset, with the confidence to take ownership of tasks and projects.
  • Team-oriented and reliable, with flexibility to support on-call or overtime work when needed.
  • Commercial awareness, with a focus on cost-effective maintenance solutions.
