Instrumental Music Educator

This position requires a highly skilled and experienced instrumental music educator to provide tuition to students from Years 7-12, individually or in small groups. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting students to participate in performance exams, assisting in the development and operation of choirs, music ensembles and bands, and communicating with classroom teachers and the Instrumental Music Coordinator regarding daily operations.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in instrumental music tuition, with the ability to maintain high technical and performance standards. They will also possess excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage with students, parents, colleagues and the broader school community.
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide instrumental music tuition to students from Years 7-12, individually or in small groups
- Support students to participate in performance exams
- Assist in the development and operation of choirs, music ensembles and bands
- Communicate with classroom teachers and the Instrumental Music Coordinator regarding daily operations
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Demonstrated knowledge of current VET music competencies and VCE music repertoire requirements
- Demonstrated experience on improved learning of contemporary styles and the capacity to engage with student interests and relevant curriculum
- Demonstrated reflection of practice and engagement in professional learning to continually improve the quality of instructing and performance outcomes
- Demonstrated ability to organise and participate in College performance schedule
