Job Description

The Mathematical Association of Western Australia is seeking a highly skilled leader to drive the future of mathematics education in Western Australia. As the Executive Officer, you will be responsible for steering the organisation's strategic direction, championing mathematics education across WA, and delivering fresh services for members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Shape and deliver the strategic direction of the organisation's program, partnerships, and member services.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders, government bodies, and the wider education sector.
  • Lead a small team to deliver professional learning, events, and resources.
  • Manage student activities, including coordination, expansion, and teacher support of the Problem Solving Program.
  • Support the Board in maintaining compliance and good governance.
  • Champion the organisation's reach, influence, and reputation across WA and nationally.
  • Drive membership growth and engagement through responsive offerings.
  • Oversee financial operations in partnership with the Board.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a school, system, or education organisation.
  • Strong communication and advocacy skills.
  • Experience in governance and working alongside boards or committees.
  • Passion for inclusive, engaging approaches to mathematics education.
  • Business acumen and strategic thinking.
