About the Role

As a Senior Manager, you will provide technical accounting support to clients and internal teams, focusing on financial reporting and technical advisory services. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing technical accounting support to audit and other client-facing engagement teams
  • Reviewing and assisting with financial statement disclosures
  • Providing specialist technical advice on the application of IFRS and Australian Accounting Standards to clients in relation to complex transactions
  • Working with clients to prepare high-quality financial statements
  • Implementing services for new accounting standards
  • Acting as a technical consultant in accordance with BDO's technical consultations policy for any accounting matter
  • Performing technical reviews of financial statements in accordance with BDO's technical consultations policy
  • Contributing ideas and reviewing training materials prepared by BDO National Professional Standards on accounting matters
  • Preparing and delivering financial reporting and training
  • Preparing and delivering client accounting seminars and training as required
  • Researching and developing responses to changes in Accounting Standards
  • Active involvement in regular national meetings to discuss technical queries and ensure consistency across our offices
  • Assisting with the growth of the IFRS Advisory team through the development of a suitable professional profile and other marketing and business development activities

What You'll Need to Succeed

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Australian Accounting Standards (AASB). You will also need to have experience in analysing accounting issues and presenting viable solutions. Additionally, you will need to have strong client and stakeholder focus, as well as clear and effective communication skills.
