Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our Multifamily Housing Unit as the Managing Director. This role will be responsible for formulating and implementing statewide funding programs, policies, and strategies to address the affordable housing needs of low-income households and people with special needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement statewide funding programs, policies, and strategies to address affordable housing needs
  • Exercise independent judgment and decision-making regarding multifamily/rental affordable housing policies and programs
  • Oversee administration of federally-funded HOME and National Housing Trust programs
  • Develop and implement plans and policies to ensure long-term viability of state-funded affordable housing projects
  • Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including nonprofit organizations, local governments, and federal agencies
Requirements
  • 9 years of professional-level experience in affordable housing, including housing finance, real estate, contracting, or a related field
  • 3 years of experience supervising one or more employees, including hiring staff, training, and development
  • Advanced level knowledge and experience in affordable housing finance and development, including residential real estate underwriting and financial analysis
  • Demonstrated communication skills and ability to articulate policies and program objectives to a wide range of audiences
Preferred Qualifications
  • Asset management experience, including real estate workouts, multi-family refinance, and syndication
  • Anti-Racism Training and/or experience in cross-cultural settings
  • Experience managing U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development funds
  • Housing Development Finance Professional Certification
