Laboratory Support Specialist
Job DescriptionThis is an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic team as a Laboratory Support Specialist. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the smooth operation of our laboratory by performing a range of tasks related to specimen processing and data entry.
You will be responsible for receiving and processing specimens, operating and maintaining analysers, and pre- and post-analytical specimen handling. Additionally, you will identify and prioritise urgent specimens, file and store specimens, and assist scientists as required.
Your excellent customer service and communication skills will be essential in responding to result and sample requirements, as well as general queries from colleagues and other stakeholders.
Required Skills and Qualifications- Experience in specimen processing and data entry
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to cope and thrive in a busy environment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Understanding of procedure accuracy importance
- Willingness to follow departmental policies
- Certificate III in Laboratory Techniques or Pathology Collection (desirable)
