We are seeking a highly skilled Financial & Fund Accountant to join our team at Jones Talent ID. As a key member of our Finance team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Associate Director of Finance in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting and compliance.
Key Responsibilities- Corporate Accounting: Complete the accounting and financial reporting processes for all entities, including preparation of tax compliance and indirect tax returns.
- Implement and Maintain Internal Controls: Implement and maintain internal controls and procedures to ensure the accuracy of financial information and safeguard company assets.
- Liaise with External Parties: Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies to ensure all corporate requirements are met in a timely and efficient manner.
- Financial Analysis and Reporting: Provide financial analysis and forecasting reports to assist strategic planning and decision-making processes.
- Reconcile and Calculate Unit Prices: Reconcile and calculate daily/monthly/quarterly unit prices in fixed income (bond) funds and VC funds.
- Reconcile and Maintain General Ledgers: Reconcile and maintain the general ledgers.
- Trade Processing and Settlement: Handle trade processing and settlement, and cash/position reconciliations.
- Statutory Financial Statements: Prepare quarterly, half-yearly and annual statutory financial statements and annual tax returns.
- Income Distributions and Tax Components: Calculate and manage periodic income distributions and tax components.
- Monthly Fee Calculations: Complete monthly fee calculations, management and performance reporting and quarterly BAS.
- 2-5 years of accounting experience in investment management or financial services (ideally).
- Professional qualification - CA or CPA.
- Experience with implementing new software, and generally tech savvy.
- Proficient in financial reporting and related software.
- Advanced MS Excel skills.
- Comprehensive understanding of cashflow management, reconciliations and bookkeeping.
- Budgeting and forecasting experience.
- Highly developed analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication.
- Initiative and an understanding of 'the big picture' and the importance of time management, meeting deadlines, and working effectively in a team environment.
