Procurement Specialist Job Description

This role plays a vital part in ensuring our procurement processes are transparent, compliant, and aligned with best practice.

The Procurement Specialist will prepare and release tender documentation to potential suppliers, coordinate tender review panels, oversee tender closing and analysis, award service contracts relating to materials, suppliers, and speciality services, undertake research and preparation of final contract documentation, review contractor performance and report utilisation, provide information and protocols to internal customers, arrange training programs for staff, and maintain databases and electronic record systems.

Responsibilities
  1. Prepare tender documentation for releases to potential suppliers.
  2. Coordinate the evaluation process with stakeholders.
  3. Oversee tender closing and thorough analysis of supplier responses.
  4. Recommend and award service contracts following a robust evaluation process.
  5. Undertake extensive research and prepare comprehensive contract documents.
  6. Conduct regular review and reporting of contractor performance.
  7. Provide crucial information and protocols to support the internal customer base.
  8. Develop and implement comprehensive training programs for staff.
  9. Maintain accurate databases and electronic record systems to ensure seamless access to key data.
Requirements
  • Qualifications or experience in Procurement, Contracts, or Administration.
  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills to effectively evaluate and secure best value from suppliers.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and time management skills to ensure effective collaboration and delivery of results.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and contract management systems.
