We are seeking a seasoned legal professional to join our team as Senior Legal Counsel. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for providing strategic guidance on employment law, industrial relations, and compliance matters.

  • Support the implementation of new legislation and ensure compliant practices throughout the organization.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks associated with workforce challenges.
Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of employment and industrial relations law, including awards and enterprise agreements. You will work closely with leaders to interpret legislation, find commercially viable solutions, and provide clear advice on complex matters.

  • Provide expert advice on employment and industrial relations matters, including litigation, disciplinary actions, and disputes.
  • Represent the organization in employment/IR litigation and support dispute resolution efforts.
  • Quantify legal risks and develop strategies to mitigate underpayments and payroll compliance issues.
About You

We are looking for a solutions-focused lawyer with a deep understanding of employment and industrial relations law. Your expertise should include:

  • A minimum of 5 years of post-admission experience as a qualified lawyer (in-house and/or private practice).
  • Strong knowledge of employment and industrial relations law, including operation of awards and enterprise agreements.
  • Demonstrable understanding of legal principles and judicial procedures.
  • Commercial mindset with experience in change management and payroll systems.
  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams.
