Production Planning Manager

The primary function of this position is to ensure timely delivery of products by coordinating activities across Production, Engineering and Purchasing teams toward the common goal of on-time product delivery.

To achieve this objective, you will need to verify that all necessary information and materials are available prior to releasing orders for manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and verify drawings and material availability before releasing them for manufacture.
  • Coordinate closely with the Scheduler on internal, customer and vendor schedules.
  • Stage and complete materials prior to job release.
  • Collaborate between Production, Engineering and Purchasing teams.
  • Track and report progress to schedule.
  • Assist shop foremen with shortages and material needs.
  • Plan and assist with shop and material scheduling.
  • Perform in-house expediting as needed to maintain schedule deliverables.
  • Requisition materials as required.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience with JIT, MRP, CRP, Lean (or other waste elimination processes), ISO 9000 (or other structures QMS) desired
  • APICS CPIM certification a plus
  • Spanish language skills a plus
  • Experience with Info LN a plus
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Working knowledge of data collection systems, proficient with data analysis and evaluation
  • Proficient with PC applications, (MS Project, Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Experience working in a network environment
  • Ability to work multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to take input from multiple sources and prioritize own work effectively
  • Ability to communicate effectively with superiors and peers as well as with individuals both inside and outside the organization.
