Research and Innovation Leader

As a Research and Innovation Leader, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the advancement of research and strategic goals at our organization. This dynamic position bridges research development and strategic operations, guiding researchers through the full research lifecycle while contributing to broader strategic initiatives and policy engagement.

The ideal candidate will thrive in an intellectually rich environment, with involvement in diverse aspects of research - from identifying funding opportunities and supporting grant applications to managing strategic partnerships and enabling real-world impact.

Collaborate closely with researchers, industry, and policy stakeholders to help shape our organization's research direction and innovation agenda, with exposure to cutting-edge AI research and opportunities to influence policy and strategic planning in a rapidly evolving field.

This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive, strategic thinker with strong project management skills and a passion for research impact, close engagement with senior academics, university service teams, and external partners offering both operational responsibility and strategic influence.

To be successful, you will need:

  • Experience in a research support, strategic, or development role in a research-intensive environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and concisely
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders and contribute to team-based initiatives
  • Strong organisational and analytical skills, with a proactive and solutions-focused mindset
  • A willingness to engage with strategic and policy discussions related to research, AI, and emerging technologies
  • An enthusiasm for learning and a genuine interest in research and innovation, particularly in artificial intelligence
  • Demonstrated ability to promote our organizational values of integrity, respect, collegiality, excellence and discovery, and a commitment to positively comply with the associated behaviour expectations
