About a Therapeutic Support Role

We are seeking individuals to provide direct support to children and young people who have experienced trauma.

The Ideal Candidate

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Human Services or equivalent qualification
  • An understanding of the effects of trauma on behaviour and learning
  • Experience in mentoring, residential care, or youth detention
  • First Aid Certification and certificates in areas of disability support
  • A current driver license and own fully insured/registered vehicle (mileage reimbursements available)
  • A Working with Children Card/Blue Card relevant to QLD and willingness to undergo statutory checks

Your Key Responsibilities

You will work closely with our carers, providing therapeutic support to children and young people through various activities, including:

  • Respite care
  • Birth family visits
  • In-class/school support
  • Community engagement
  • Behavioural/social mentoring
  • Camps/activities and excursions
