As an Operational Lead in a dynamic dispatch environment, you will oversee the daily activities of a team to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant dispatch. Your key responsibilities include:
- Leading and motivating a team of dispatch operators to achieve high performance and meet daily KPIs
- Championing a robust safety culture throughout all daily activities, ensuring compliance and proactive risk management
- Overseeing and monitoring order movements to ensure efficient and timely dispatch of export shipments with accurate and compliant documentation
- Approving freight invoices promptly and managing freight consumables ordering
- Collaborating with other departments to address customer enquiries, freight quotes, and coordinate scheduling
- Maintaining Aussieflex controls to enhance team efficiency, including managing backorders and undelivered stock
- Identifying logistics procedural gaps and implementing corrective actions to mitigate business risks and improve supply chain reliability
- Conducting regular staff performance reviews, providing constructive feedback, and managing talent development and training pathways
- Supporting recruitment, roster management, leave approvals, and timesheet verification for permanent and contingent workers
- Driving dispatch KPI's focused on shipment accuracy, yield optimisation, and waste reduction
- Ensuring strict adherence to Quality, Environment, Health and Safety policies: proactively reporting hazards and incidents, to maintain a safe workplace
Key Requirements
- Proven experience managing teams in a dispatch, logistics, or production environment
- Strong leadership skills with emotional intelligence, empathy, resilience, and adaptability
- Exceptional time management, attention to detail, and organisational skills
- Advanced verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across all organisational levels
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook; SAP experience is advantageous
