Salary and Benefits

As an Apprentice Heavy Diesel Mechanic, you can expect to earn between $45,000 - $80,000 per year, including reasonable overtime loading and generous allowances. Our benefits include:

  • Earning potential: $45,000 - $80,000 per year
  • Attendance allowance: $16 payable upon rostered hours worked
  • Tool allowance: Payable weekly when applicable, ranging from $8.74 to $15.48
  • Annual leave loading: 17.5%
Job Description

As an Apprentice Heavy Diesel Mechanic, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Learning the skills required to be part of the Workshop team under supervision
  • Performing minor repairs and service of vehicles and equipment within your skill level and experience
  • Completing all units of the apprenticeship to the required standards and within the required timeframe(s)
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A completed School Certificate or Higher School Certificate
  • Good Mathematics, Science, and English skills
  • A strong work ethic, reliability, punctuality, honesty, and commitment to completing your trade qualification
  • A genuine interest in pursuing a career in the automotive industry
