Strategic Project Lead Role

We are seeking an experienced Strategic Project Lead to spearhead the advancement of our Healthy Islands vision through research initiatives in PNG.

  • Promote local capacity strengthening by providing guidance and collaborative leadership approaches
  • Demonstrate and exemplify TGI's core values in all work aspects and interactions with project team members and stakeholders
  • Represent the projects in relevant forums, meetings, and working groups.

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a health-related discipline or equivalent field
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in delivering complex health/research projects
  • Demonstrated leadership and staff management expertise

Main responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing the planning, coordination, and implementation of assigned research projects
  • Establishing and maintaining systems to track project progress, outputs, and outcomes
  • Leading or supporting ethics submissions and managing ongoing approvals in PNG and Australia

Beyond these requirements, the ideal candidate should be able to:

  • Analyse data to inform project decisions and strategies
  • Negotiate and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders
  • Foster a culture of collaboration and knowledge-sharing within the project team
