Healthy Food Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Healthy Food Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our centre, you will play a vital role in creating healthy menus for children of all ages.

  • This position involves working closely with our cooks to develop and implement menus that cater to the dietary needs of our children.
  • You will have access to a national network of centre cooks who regularly share recipes, ideas, and tips.
  • Our centre is committed to promoting healthy eating habits and we encourage our cooks to utilise the amazing Feed Australia program – a free resource enabling healthy menu planning and budgeting.

About You

  • Efficient and capable cook with excellent nutritional knowledge
  • Able to prepare, implement, and evaluate the nutritional content of menus
  • Experienced in bulk meal preparation, online ordering, stock management, and budget control
  • Strict about complying with relevant food safety and hygiene regulations and standards
  • Able to cater for individual child requirements including allergies, specific dietary requirements, and needs
  • Keen to participate in educational opportunities teaching children about healthy food by sharing in lessons and family events

What We Are Looking For

  • Current Food Safety and Handlers Certificate
  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery / equivalent (desirable)
  • Experience in an early childhood setting
  • Reliable transport to and from our centre
  • Current first aid certificate (including asthma and anaphylactic training) and resuscitation certificate
