Job Title: Environmental Compliance Officer

This role presents an exceptional opportunity to work in a dynamic team and make a meaningful contribution to the community.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring ongoing compliance with environmental regulations, investigating breaches of development and building consents, and reviewing environmental and planning reports.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Investigating land, noise, air, and water pollution offences
  • Presenting evidence in legal proceedings on behalf of the Council
  • Ensuring ongoing community compliance in relation to development and building control, environmental protection, and public health and safety

To succeed in this role, you will require excellent problem-solving skills, strong interpersonal and persuasive abilities, as well as effective written and oral communication skills.

A Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health, Environmental Science, or related discipline is preferred, along with experience in preparing briefs of evidence, providing evidence at Court Hearings, issuing Notices and Orders, and reviewing environmental and planning documents and reports.
