Head of Lighting

">Key Responsibilities:

Develop and support consistent workflows in the department, ensuring the right tools and technology are used to deliver high-quality work. This includes defining workflows and approaches to maximize efficiency, designing and setting standards for the Lighting Pipeline, and engaging in the creative process with a positive and supportive attitude.

Communicate on behalf of the Lighting team, collaborate with other departments, and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency. Work closely with counterparts in other studios to plan division of work and maximize resources.

Lead and manage the Lighting team, including Supervisors, conducting probationary reviews, annual appraisals, performance management, and succession planning. Provide mentorship and guidance to develop team members' potential.

">Requirements:
  • Deep understanding of lighting within visual effects for high-end film and television
  • At least 10 years experience in the VFX industry
  • Significant supervision and/or management experience in the VFX industry
  • Previous experience in line management
  • Extensive knowledge of rendering software such as Clarisse, Arnold, and/or Katana
  • Superb problem-solving skills and ability to propose ideas and suggestions
  • Experience in project management, prioritizing tasks, and estimating time
  • Excellent technical skills and ability to influence and build strong working relations
  • Ability to understand the needs and demands of a production-driven environment
">Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous knowledge of the DNEG pipeline
  • Experience in Python and general programming
  • Maya and/or equivalent 3D software knowledge
  • Previous experience working in or with development teams
