Are you a mechanical engineering student or graduate with a passion for designing and modelling projects? This internship is ideal for you. You will be working in a mid-sized machinery and equipment manufacturing company supporting the Senior Design Engineer with Solidworks design and modelling tasks.
This 12-week internship involves hands-on engineering design work incorporating automation and robotics to support production and delivery of machinery and ancillary equipment. A strong background in Solidworks design engineering is required to succeed in this role.
Roles and Responsibilities:- Designing machinery and industrial equipment using Solidworks
- Providing technical support and helping draft and edit P&IDs using software such as Lucidchart and EdrawMax
- Conducting design reviews and risk assessments with senior engineers and production managers, and providing on-site workshop assistance
- Liaising with clients and presenting final designs for review
- Performing simulations and coordinating QA and testing activities
- Hands-on mechanical engineering experience with a focus on mechatronics and industrial design for FMCGs and new product integration
- Essential Solidworks skills and software training in 3D modelling to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world design engineering projects
- P&ID drafting experience with a focus on designing pneumatic circuits
- Knowledge of DFM and Lean principles
- A member of the CSA Internship Academy
