Job Overview

The HR Generalist and Talent Acquisition Specialist plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality, customer-focused people and culture support across both generalist HR and talent functions. This position requires a strong understanding of recruitment and generalist HR practices, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to navigate sensitive matters with discretion and empathy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support end-to-end recruitment and talent acquisition processes, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and best-practice talent methods.
  • Provide timely, accurate generalist HR advice to managers and staff on a wide range of workforce matters, including employee relations, performance management, and policy interpretation.
  • Monitor and manage enquiries through our Talent and People & Culture shared inboxes, ensuring prompt and professional service.
  • Assist in interpreting awards, policies, and industrial instruments to support fair and consistent practices.
  • Provide confidential and considered HR support to internal stakeholders, exercising empathy and sound judgment.
  • Maintain accurate HR records and systems to support compliance and reporting obligations.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A strong understanding of recruitment and generalist HR practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to navigate sensitive matters with discretion and empathy.
  • A collaborative mindset and a passion for continuous improvement.
  • Familiarity with government processes, HR systems, or industrial frameworks is an asset.
