Optimising Transport Operations

The role of Transport Sector Leader involves providing leadership and strategic direction to optimise resource utilisation and deliver expertise to ensure project success.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing multi-disciplinary projects, building trusting client relationships, and producing high-quality tender documents that meet client specifications.

This is an outstanding opportunity to shape your career and drive change across the business. You will work closely with regional directors and support the transport leadership team in providing national support services to state transport sector teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership and assist in managing and achieving effective utilisation of all human and other resources in the provision of SMEC services
  • Support the transport leadership in providing strategic and operational direction
  • Assist in coordinating and prioritising national support services to state transport sector teams
Requirements:
  • Manage multiple projects successfully to budget and client specifications
  • Build trusting and productive client and stakeholder relationships
  • Have a change-ready mindset that encourages cross-pollination across regions, businesses, and sectors
  • Produce high-quality tender documents in a timely manner
  • Manage a team effectively for performance and cohesion
  • Be recognised as a local authority in the transport industry
