Senior Risk Data Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Risk Data Analyst to join our Risk team at the Board of Australian Finance Group. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting the business in developing data-driven decisions, with a risk management lens, across operational and strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement risk-related data-driven initiatives to drive business outcomes.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of numerous risks and opportunities, including Credit risk, Operational risk, and Climate risk.
- Interrogate the Data Warehouse to develop queries and datasets used for analysis and reporting across the organization.
- Create and maintain rich interactive dashboard visualizations using Business Intelligence Tools (Tableau and Power BI).
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather project requirements, provide status updates, and deliver data-driven outputs.
- Work closely with our IT team to develop, implement, and maintain our data management environment and platform tools.
- Tertiary degree qualified in statistics, commerce/finance, computer science, data science, or equivalent.
- Masters in Data Science or Predictive Analytics highly desired but not essential.
- Experience interrogating relational databases using SQL, and programming experience (preferably in R and/or Python).
- Robust interpersonal skills to build relationships up, down, and across all levels of the organization.
- Strong report writing skills.
- Financial services Credit risk and/or Risk analytics experience will be highly regarded.
