Senior Data Analyst

The SKA Observatory is seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Analyst/Telescope Operator to lead a team of data analysts/operators in supporting the construction of the low frequency telescope (SKA-Low) in remote Western Australia.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing operator procedures and documentation, and for the line management, mentoring and training of the data analyst/telescope operators under their supervision.
The role will involve managing the performance of the data analyst/operator team, conducting and monitoring astronomical observations, and using computing resources to ensure the successful operation of the telescope array releases.
The ideal candidate will have an undergraduate degree in astronomy, physics, engineering, computing or a related field, and experience in leading, managing and developing a diverse team.
They will also have a strong understanding of radio astronomy observations and data reduction pipelines, especially at low frequencies, and be familiar with low frequency radio astronomy calibration techniques.
