Job OverviewWe are currently seeking an Environmental Education Specialist to join our team at our Epping campus. As a key member of our faculty, you will be responsible for teaching Conservation and Land Management courses, organizing and delivering theory, practical, flexible, and field-based classes.
Key Responsibilities- Teach approved recurrent and industry programs, including Certificate of Diploma of Conservation and Land Management programs.
- Liaise with other staff, industry personnel, and employers to ensure effective collaboration and communication.
- Assist in the development and delivery of Conservation and Land Management programs, maintaining a strong commitment to academic excellence and industry relevance.
- Participate in ongoing curriculum development and assessment, ensuring that our programs remain current and responsive to the needs of the industry.
- Continually maintain class attendance rolls in compliance with Institute quality guidelines, upholding the highest standards of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Participate in activities related to the delivery of programs, such as field trips, and contribute to the creation of engaging and interactive learning experiences.
- Select, safely use, and maintain appropriate equipment, adhering to all relevant safety protocols and guidelines.
- Identify and introduce strategies to assist students who are experiencing learning difficulties, demonstrating a commitment to student support and success.
- Ensure vocational competencies are maintained for all areas of teaching, upholding the highest standards of professional practice.
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:
- A degree, diploma, or certificate relevant to both content and academic level, along with industry experience relevant to the Land Conservation Industry.
- A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, demonstrating your ability to deliver high-quality training and assessment.
- The ability to take a lead role in the effective operation and coordination of Land Conservation courses, contributing to the success of our programs.
- The ability to teach and facilitate delivery of specialist Land Conservation subjects and related courses to groups with diverse backgrounds and abilities.
- Excellent machinery operation skills, essential for the safe and effective use of equipment in the field.
- A thorough knowledge of current industry practices and procedures, with a demonstrated ability to initiate and maintain liaisons within the Land Conservation Industry.
- The ability to cooperate in a team environment and work effectively with minimum supervision, contributing to a collaborative and supportive team culture.
- A current Victorian Driver's License, as well as any other machinery license relevant to the industry.
- Required workplace Certificates in High Risk work, ensuring your safety and the safety of others in the workplace.
- A current Working with Children Check (Employee), upholding our commitment to child safety and protection.
The estimated salary for this role is between $82,000 - $88,590 per annum, plus superannuation. This figure reflects the base salary range and may vary based on individual qualifications, experience, and other factors.
