**Role Overview**

School Learning Support Officers provide specialized assistance to students with diverse learning needs, including those with disabilities, in classrooms and other educational settings under the direction of a teacher.

This support encompasses student welfare, health, and wellbeing activities as required. Additionally, School Learning Support Officers may work in specific streams or settings such as pre-school, vision support, hearing support, and bilingual environments.

**Key Responsibilities**:

  • Support students with diverse learning needs
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement individualized learning plans
  • Administer medications as required

**Requirements**:

  • Working with Children Check Clearance
  • Completion of mandatory training provided by the Department of Education
  • First aid training relevant to the School Learning Support Officer role

**Selection Criteria**:

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Ability to work with students with emotional, physical, or intellectual disabilities
  • Awareness of the needs of students with emotional, physical, or intellectual disabilities
  • Effective communication skills
