Health and Safety Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated Health, Safety and Wellbeing Manager to join our team. As a key member of the team, you will provide expert advice and guidance on Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) initiatives.

Leveraging your organisational expertise in health, safety & wellbeing, you will ensure we maintain appropriate health and safety controls and continuous improvement initiatives that address physical risks, psychosocial risks, occupational violence risks and biological risks in the workplace.

You will support the delivery of our statutory Health Safety & Wellbeing obligations while playing a key role in leading and managing a program focused on mental wellbeing and psychosocial risk management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on OHS initiatives
  • Ensure we maintain appropriate health and safety controls and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support the delivery of our statutory Health Safety & Wellbeing obligations
  • Lead and manage a program focused on mental wellbeing and psychosocial risk management
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualification in a Health & Safety or related discipline
  • Proven knowledge and experience in mental health, vicarious trauma, suicide prevention
  • Strong emotional intelligence and resilience
  • Experience in psychosocial risk management including continued improvements in how psychosocial risks are investigated and managed
  • Experience in the development, evaluation and ongoing maintenance of strategic and operational workplace mental health and wellbeing systems and programs
