About the Role
The successful candidate will join our esteemed Wills and Estates team as a valued senior lawyer, reporting directly to the Practice Group Director. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for advising and transacting (80-90%) and litigating (10-20%) on various matters including:
- wills, trusts, powers of attorney, probate, succession planning, asset protection, guardianship, administration of deceased estates, and Family Provision Act claims.
Key Responsibilities
You will have the unique opportunity to work with prominent clients and provide expert advice on their estate planning needs. Your primary duties will include:
- conducting thorough analyses of client circumstances and developing tailored solutions;
- advising on wills, trusts, and other estate planning instruments;
- representing clients in court proceedings related to estate disputes;
- communicating effectively with clients and stakeholders to ensure seamless service delivery.
Requirements and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you must possess:
- a minimum of 6 years' post-admission experience practicing in wills and estates law;
- preferably an Accredited Specialist in succession law or relevant qualifications such as a Graduate Diploma of Applied Law (Wills and Estates) or Master of Laws specializing in Wills/Estates;
- strong time prioritization, people leadership, and client management skills;
- a results-focused approach with a strong commercial acumen and entrepreneurial mindset;
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal software (Affinity preferred).
