Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Electromechanical Systems Expert to join our team at Wabtec Corporation. As a Senior Systems Staff Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and owning customer technical requests, leading technical discussions, and providing advanced troubleshooting and fault resolution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and own customer technical requests requiring in-depth data analysis, data science techniques, vibroacoustic expertise, and detailed system knowledge.
  • Prepare carefully considered customer-facing responses to technical queries arising through projects and ongoing support agreements.
  • Lead technical discussions with potential and existing customers to extract user requirements, translate, and drive new product initiatives and enhancements.
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting and fault resolution on our deployed systems requiring a detailed understanding of our data acquisition and processing pipelines.
  • Conceptualize, develop, test, and implement new features in the data acquisition, processing, and reporting software.
  • Work to improve automated system diagnostics and implement improved diagnostic reporting for our products.
  • Provide detailed hands-on and engineering design reviews across mechanical, civil, electrical, electronics, and software disciplines.
  • Define, develop, and document system/sub-system level test plans and procedures.
  • Contribute to the creation and upkeep of product documentation – design, engineering calculations, analysis.
  • Provide oversight and critical review of system-level design activities, including the integration of hardware, firmware, edge applications, front-end and back-end applications, and databases.
Requirements
  • Masters/Bachelors in Electromechanical/Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent proven industry experience in electromechanical engineering.
  • 8+ years of relevant industry experience and domain expertise.
  • In-depth understanding of sensor selection, DAQ, and signal processing.
  • Experience in system and sub-system level design and integration.
  • Broad multi-discipline engineering knowledge and expertise.
  • Technical knowledge of systems architecture, functionality, output, and data interpretation.
  • Experience working with electromechanical and software systems.
  • Experience working in the rail industry.
