Job Title: Director of Information Governance

The role involves providing strategic advice, leadership, and direction in relation to the long-term preservation, management, and access to the Agency's information assets.

About The Role
  • This position will be responsible for ensuring knowledge of contemporary best practice and compliance with legislative, financial, and administrative frameworks, government decision-making processes, and agency guidelines and regulations.
  • The successful candidate will lead a team of professionals, role modeling our leadership behaviours while implementing and promoting a climate of innovation and continuous improvement in information management.
  • Developing, maintaining, implementing, and delivering systems for keeping, updating, accessing, and preserving information is essential for this role.
Your Skills and Qualifications
  • A high level of experience in developing, implementing, and continuously improving a records and information management governance framework within an Australian Public Service (APS) agency is required.
  • An extensive understanding of Australian information management legislation, standards, policies, and authorities is necessary.
  • Excellence in stakeholder engagement and management skills, with proven ability as a trusted advisor to senior management is expected.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to work on multiple projects concurrently, manage competing priorities, and adhere to strict deadlines to achieve results in a busy environment are required.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification or demonstrated professional experience in Records Management, Information Management, Knowledge Management, Archives Management, or a related discipline is mandatory.
