Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide timely, concise, and pragmatic legal advice and solutions to the University's functions.
  • Contribute to the delivery of high-quality, independent professional legal advice and compliance services.
  • Work collaboratively with the Legal Services Unit to achieve the University's strategic goals.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with University staff and officers at all levels.
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant laws, regulations, and industry developments.

Requirements:

  • Admission in an Australian jurisdiction and NSW Practising Certificate (or eligibility to hold).
  • At least 3 years of post-admission experience working in at least two of the following areas of law: corporate governance, contract and commercial law, intellectual property, public sector/administrative law, property law, and litigation/disputes.
  • High-level conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organisation, file management, and time management skills, with consistent attention to detail.
  • Positive interpersonal skills and the ability to engage successfully with staff and officers at all levels of the University.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience in an in-house and/or tertiary education environment.
