We are seeking a highly motivated and reliable individual to support Aboriginal people experiencing financial hardship or requiring financial counselling.
The successful candidate will work with clients to assess their financial situation, identify possible options, and communicate this knowledge clearly and effectively.
This role is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about working in an Aboriginal organisation that is taking the next step towards self-determination and self-management.
The position is based in Fitzroy North with travel required.
Key Requirements- Awareness and appreciation of Aboriginal communities and cultures.
- Experience of financial counselling issues and understanding of the contributing factors.
- Competent counselling and interpersonal skills including negotiating and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to assess financial situations, identify options and communicate clearly.
- Ability to advocate and negotiate on behalf of clients.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
