Job Title:

Biosecurity Specialist

About the Role:

You will play a key part in preventing damaging pests and diseases from entering Tasmania, protecting our unique environment and agricultural sectors.

We seek individuals who are naturally curious, highly detail-oriented, and decisive, with a keen ability to observe and identify unusual occurrences.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting biosecurity inspections, surveillance, control, and eradication activities.
  • Gathering data and maintaining records during operational tasks.
  • Investigating suspected non-compliance and undertaking enforcement actions.
  • Assisting in delivering biosecurity and animal welfare emergency responses.

Work collaboratively with supportive teams and contribute to protecting Tasmania's environment, industries, and way of life.

Requirements:

This is a seasonal part-time position, primarily working between October and March.

Your minimum hours may increase based on operational needs during the season.

A satisfactory security clearance as required by Port Authorities is essential.
