Operational Services Officer RoleJob Summary

This is a role for an Operational Services Officer to provide operational support services in various areas within the hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness, ensuring that all floors, fixtures and fittings are kept clean according to Queensland Health guidelines and policies.


Main Responsibilities
  • Cleaning of all floors, fixtures and fittings within the hospital buildings as directed.
  • Laundry services for patients and staff of the hospital as per Queensland Health guidelines and policies.
  • Preparation and delivery of meals for patients, staff and other clients as per Queensland Health guidelines and policies.
  • Assist health care professionals in the provision of patient care work, performing a range of basic non-professional tasks and transporting patients as needed.

Key Requirements
  • No mandatory qualifications are required for this position.
  • Physical ability to carry out frequent and repetitive lifting, manual handling of goods and patients.
  • Evidence of vaccination or immunity to Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, and Tuberculosis may be required.
  • A period of probation may apply.

This role requires continuous shift work and working all shifts as rostered. You will need to adhere to Uniform Dress code for the health service and undergo pre-employment screening including Criminal History checks.
