Compensation Advocate

We are seeking a skilled Compensation Advocate to join our Claims and Advocacy team.

  • This is an exciting opportunity for you to make a meaningful difference in the lives of veterans and their families.
  • You will play a key role in the submission of DVA claims and representation at the Veterans' Review Board, ensuring the delivery of a professional service that meets the needs of all clients.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Actively strive to exceed expectations through excellent service, consultation, and continuous improvement
  • Demonstrate an empathetic and flexible approach in all actions
  • Liaise with key external stakeholders, related services, and agencies associated with DVA
  • Participate in projects aligned with strategic/operational plans and embrace the change process
  • Take responsibility for the delivery of work outcomes associated with the preparation, submission, and follow-up of claims/appeals for compensation and entitlements from DVA & VRB.
Requirements:
  • Compensation Advocate Level 3 (or working towards)
  • Working knowledge of all defence entitlements under appropriate legislation and Veteran's Review Board policies and practices
  • Completion of /or willingness to complete courses relevant to the role
  • Understanding of defence-related illnesses and conditions
  • Ability to establish and build meaningful relationships internally and externally
  • Highly developed communication skills and the ability to prioritise, manage and problem solve
