About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team in the Kookaburra, Cancer Care Ward at The Royal Children's Hospital. As a Registered Nurse in Paediatric Oncology, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to children and young people with cancer.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide safe and effective care to patients with cancer, including chemotherapy administration and symptom management.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities to enhance patient outcomes and experiences.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of education programs for patients, families, and healthcare staff.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance nursing practice and stay up-to-date with the latest evidence-based practices.
Requirements
  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
  • Recent acute nursing experience, with a strong background in paediatric oncology or a willingness to learn and develop skills in this area.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare staff.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
