Are you an experienced infrastructure specialist with a passion for secure, scalable, and high-performing digital environments? We're seeking a Senior Gateway Engineer to join our team in Canberra, working in a hybrid capacity that supports both in-office collaboration and remote flexibility. This role offers the opportunity to work independently and collaboratively across architecture, shared services, and third-party providers to ensure robust gateway infrastructure and secure operations.

NV1 Security Clearance is mandatory

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, evaluate, and implement infrastructure solutions to meet current and future business needs
  • Provide expert technical support across project build, testing, and deployment phases
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation including design specs, implementation plans, and support procedures
  • Contribute to strategic planning, operational policy development, and change initiatives
  • Participate in change management processes and assess the impact of configuration changes
  • Deliver specialist technical advice and strategic insights to senior leadership
Skills & Experience Required
  • Minimum five (5) years' experience in managing internet gateway or large-scale data centre networking environments
  • Proficiency in F5/Blue Coat Layer 4-7 switching, load balancing, and proxy systems
  • Strong background in Cisco Data Centre technologies including ACI, routers, Nexus switches, and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP)
  • Hands-on experience with Palo Alto firewalls and IPS solutions
  • Expertise in VPN technologies, email systems, and DNS (Infoblox) solutions
  • Familiarity with hybrid/public cloud integration and Australian Government security standards (ASD ISM, Essential Eight)
