Health, Safety and Wellbeing Specialist

This role plays a vital part in our organisation's commitment to creating a safe working environment for all employees.

The Health, Safety and Wellbeing (HSW) Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to improve workplace health and safety. They will work closely with the Hospital Executive Team, Managers, Supervisors and the Health and Safety Committee to deliver the Site Improvement Plan.

The HSW Specialist will provide technical advice and support to ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks and accreditation requirements. They will also build capability and enhance accountability for safety among Managers, Supervisors and HSC members through coaching and influencing.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement site-specific health and safety plans and programs.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop control measures to mitigate hazards.
  • Investigate incidents and near misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Provide training and education to employees on health and safety procedures and protocols.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to promote a culture of safety and well-being.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Certificate IV in Work Health Safety or equivalent qualification.
  • Diploma in Work Health Safety or equivalent qualification.
