Job SummaryWe are seeking a seasoned professional to join our team as an Operational Risk Insights Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for providing expert guidance and support in the development, maintenance, and oversight of fit-for-purpose operational risk reporting.The ideal candidate will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in writing to a senior audience. They will also have confidence in engaging senior business stakeholders, proven relationship/stakeholder management skills, and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across broader groups to deliver desired outcomes.Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation of Board and Risk Committee reporting, upstream and downstream reporting and other ad-hoc requests as required;
  • Work in close collaboration with Enterprise Risk & Operations to meet all required Board and Committee deadlines;
  • Collate operational risk data and information for the purpose of insight and reporting;
  • Provide specialist advice on the design and operation of effective operational risk reporting;
  • Liaise with Risk Advisory as well as Operational Risk teams in New Zealand to ensure a Group-wide reporting view is provided;
  • Scan the external market for insights and indicators which could impact on operational risk;
  • Promote operational risk practices through the use of data;
  • Support the Group Operational Risk & Assurance team with the effective oversight of the first line;
  • Identify Group-wide themes, insights, emerging risks, incidents and issues to inform valuable discussions with Risk Advisors to ensure a co-ordinated and effective response;
  • Undertake continuous monitoring to identify gaps in the quality of risk data, (including Risk Profiles, Controls and Action tracking), making recommendations to ensure the consistency, validity and integrity of data can be relied upon for aggregation, monitoring, assessment and reporting across the Group.

  • Proven relationship/stakeholder management skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across broader groups to deliver desired outcomes;
  • Highly organised, with high attention to detail and forward planning;
  • Well-developed influencing and collaboration skills;
  • Ability to condense complex data points, themes and trends into simple and focussed advice.
