We're seeking a seasoned Operational Risk Specialist for an initial 6-month contract to support our enterprise and operational risk management functions in a highly regulated environment.

About the Role:

This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced risk professional with a strong understanding of APRA and ASIC regulatory frameworks, who can contribute to risk oversight, reporting, and controls uplift across the business.

  • Support the execution and enhancement of our enterprise risk management framework.
  • Identify, assess, and monitor operational and emerging risks across business units.
  • Conduct risk reviews and assist with control testing and assurance activities.

Maintain risk registers and ensure timely reporting of key risk indicators (KRIs). Contribute to incident and issue management, including root cause analysis and remediation tracking. Provide insights and recommendations to improve risk mitigation strategies.

Key Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • Demonstrated experience in operational risk management within financial services, ideally insurance.
  • A strong working knowledge of APRA Prudential Standards and ASIC obligations.
  • Experience in risk assessments, controls assurance, and incident management.
