Job Opportunity

This is a reputable private mental health institution located in Hurstville, providing high-quality patient care services. The hospital is expanding capacity to meet demand, including new beds dedicated to drug and alcohol support.

The successful Mental Health Nurse will work within our multidisciplinary team to deliver high quality patient-centred care, utilising their skills and experience to support patients and families through the recovery journey.

  • Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care for patients with acute and chronic mental health needs.
  • Work within a multidisciplinary team to provide patient-centred care.
  • Support patients and families in decision-making, advocacy, and discharge planning.
  • Supervise and mentor nurses where required.
  • Contribute to clinical quality, safety, and improvement initiatives.
  • Provide clear and confident communication, particularly when discussing risks and patient safety.

Essential:

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse.
  • Minimum of 3 years' mental health nursing experience.
  • Strong clinical and risk management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a private setting, with professionalism and teamwork.

Desirable:

  • Experience in drug and alcohol nursing.
  • Previous mental health hospital experience.
  • Confidence in patient advocacy and communicating risks.
