We are seeking an experienced Senior Ecologist to join our team in Sydney.

About the Opportunity

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to Umwelt's reputation for ecological projects across NSW and grow our service capacity in this area.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct field work, assessments, and provide specialist advice on ecological projects.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders, including clients, government agencies, and team members.
  • Collect and interpret ecological and spatial data, preparing and reviewing reports to high quality standards.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in environmental science, botany, zoology, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in terrestrial flora and/or fauna survey experience, project managing medium and large-scale development and/or biodiversity offsetting projects.
  • A strong understanding of the NSW Biodiversity Offset Scheme and accreditation or experience under this scheme is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining positive relationships with stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills, including experience preparing and reviewing reports.
