Role Summary:

The Marine Life Collector will be responsible for collecting, maintaining and transporting marine specimens from collection points to a central holding facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect Fish, Coral and Invertebrates using surface supplied diving techniques
  • Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of aquarium tanks, equipment and surrounding areas
  • Conduct regular health checks on aquatic inhabitants identifying and addressing any issues promptly
  • Monitor water quality parameters and ensure optimal conditions for marine life

Requirements:

  • Certified PADI diver with extensive experience in underwater tasks
  • Pass an annual occupational dive medical as per AS/NZS2299.1
  • Proficient in surface supplied diving techniques and equipment operation
  • Strong knowledge of marine biology and aquatic life
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work in a dynamic team-oriented environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience or interest in working in this environment
  • Additional certifications in dive rescue first aid or life support systems
  • Physical fitness for underwater tasks and lifting
  • Attention to detail
