We are currently seeking a highly skilled Financial Management Specialist to lead our internal financial processes and act as the bridge between our team and external accountants.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, liaising effectively with external accountants, preparation and processing of internal accounting functions (AP, AR, Payroll), managing end-to-end finance tasks including journal entries, reconciliations, and purchase orders, monitoring profit and loss performance per job, and reporting to external bodies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Reporting: Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting (weekly, monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc).
  • Liaison Role: Liaise effectively with external accountants.
  • Internal Accounting Functions: Preparation and processing of internal accounting functions (AP, AR, Payroll).
  • Finance Tasks: Manage end-to-end finance tasks including journal entries, reconciliations, and purchase orders.
  • Profit and Loss Performance: Monitor profit and loss performance per job.
  • External Reporting: Reporting to external bodies such as Portable Long Service Leave and MySkills - Skills SA.
About You:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a tertiary qualification in a finance-related discipline, be CPA, CA or CMA qualified (completed or in progress), have detailed practical working knowledge of Xero, be able to work independently and as part of a team, have a proven track record of delivering work on time, and have experience in a trade-based business (especially electrical) – highly regarded. An interest in or experience with HR administration is desirable but not essential.
