Commissioning Engineer – Energy Storage and Power Systems

This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading energy solutions provider in a challenging role that requires the application of technical knowledge across various operations.

As a Commissioning Engineer, you will be responsible for undertaking commissioning activities and site acceptance testing (SAT) of energy storage and power systems on sites located in Australia and globally.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, with experience in renewable energy, energy storage, and/or UPS applications. You should also have a good understanding of safe electrical commissioning activities, processes, discipline, and risk controls.

You will be working closely with the engineering team during design and programming phases of projects, providing technical support to project delivery teams during construction, commissioning, and handover of projects. Additionally, you will be providing phone/online support and remote diagnostics to customers, maintaining and enhancing customer relationships through effective communication.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Apply controls/electrical engineering technical knowledge across the business operations, including undertaking commissioning activities and SAT of energy storage and power systems.
  • Undertake Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) of energy storage and power systems at workshops in Sydney and NSW Central Coast.
  • Work closely with the engineering team during design and programming phases of projects.
  • Provide technical support to project delivery teams during construction, commissioning, and handover of projects.
  • Provide phone/online support and remote diagnostics to customers, maintaining and enhancing customer relationships through effective communication.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • 3+ years' relevant experience in renewable energy, energy storage, and/or UPS applications.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering.
  • Understanding of safe electrical commissioning activities, processes, discipline, and risk controls.
  • Technical and practical knowledge of power systems and components such as energy storage, UPS, inverters, generators, switchgear, and transformers, including troubleshooting connections and operations.
