The role of Product Engineer involves working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to deliver high-quality software solutions. Key responsibilities include attending agile ceremonies, participating in code reviews, and delivering code that supports the delivery of All of Government products and services.

About the Role:

This is a mid-senior level position within the Digital NSW Division in the Government Technology Platforms team. We are inviting applications for a Product Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of accessible and secure digital platforms and services for citizens and businesses in NSW.

Responsibilities:
  • Participate in daily stand-ups and sprint planning to provide overview and insights on working being delivered
  • Review code submitted by other engineers to ensure high quality and consistency
  • Develop and deliver code that meets business requirements and acceptance criteria
Key Skills and Qualifications:
  • Experience in end-to-end product development, including build, release, maintenance, and enhancement of thoroughly tested and optimized features
  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver valuable software aligned with organisational ICT/Digital strategy
  • Design and iterative testing of products/systems to ensure compliance with standards and enhance code quality
  • Experience in managing technology changes to optimise outcomes in line with organisational and government priorities
  • SQL programming and database development experience
  • Systems integration and API design experience
  • Version control systems and code review experience
  • Proactive engagement with stakeholders to refine business requirements and acceptance criteria
  • Effective communication of technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
