About The RoleThis position plays a key role in connecting students to culture, building belonging and improving well-being through education and mentoring. As a Program Lead, you will work closely with NASCA students to develop life skills, career pathways and strengthen cultural identity.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver programs in schools including planning, coordination and implementation of projects.
- Establish meaningful relationships with students, teachers and the local community.
- Support First Nation students aged between 12-18 years through workshops, in-class tutoring and one-on-one mentoring.
- Provide activities that include cooking, arts, leadership development, goal setting, job-ready skills and traditional games.
- Organise physical activities, excursions and social events.
- Facilitate opportunities for cultural exchange between community groups, NASCA and local schools.
- Develop Personalised Learning Pathway Plans for NASCA students.
- Qualifications in teaching, social sciences, Indigenous studies or related fields.
- Experience working with children and young adults, stakeholder engagement and relationship management.
- Cross-cultural understanding and ability to work effectively in diverse environments.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and be proactive with high levels of autonomy.
- Providing support to students in class.
- Facilitating workshops and engaging with students.
- Coordinating with school staff on student-specific needs.
- Communicating with community members to plan events.
- Brainstorming new ideas with colleagues to improve program delivery.
- Collecting data to inform program improvements.
