Job Summary

This is a unique opportunity to develop your skills in Geriatric Medicine and contribute to delivering high-quality patient care.

The Advanced Trainee will provide effective medical services in a patient-centric geriatric model of care, developing expertise in interdisciplinary care and management practice. They will rotate through subspecialty modules within Geriatric Medicine, including orthogeriatrics, psychogeriatrics, and the Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT), as well as acute and subacute patient care.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing medical services to patients under supervision
  • Developing expertise in interdisciplinary care and management practice
  • Rotating through subspecialty modules within Geriatric Medicine
  • Participating in multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care

The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to training in Geriatric Medicine and previous experience in Aged Care Medicine. They must be able to work independently within a supervised clinical environment using excellent clinical skills, judgement and expertise.

Selection criteria include:

  • MBBS or equivalent qualification, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia
  • Demonstrated commitment to training in Geriatric Medicine and previous experience in Aged Care Medicine
  • Excellent clinical skills, judgement and expertise
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
  • Commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management
