This opportunity involves working within a team to develop and implement responses to support the curriculum learning needs of all EAL/D students. It also requires mentoring, monitoring, and engaging in the English language development, academic performance, and wellbeing of each student.

To be successful in this role, you will need to create a positive and engaging learning environment. This includes personalising learning for students according to their language needs and abilities, creating effective EAL/D assessment practices, and implementing quality teaching programs.

Collaboration with colleagues across the school is also essential, as you work together to achieve equitable educational outcomes for every student.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement curriculum learning plans to support EAL/D students' English language development.
  • Mentor and monitor the progress of individual students, adjusting your approach as needed.
  • Create a positive learning environment by fostering inclusivity, creativity, and critical thinking.
  • Assess and evaluate student progress, using data to inform future instruction.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure cohesive and effective teaching strategies.
