Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled engineer to lead our control systems team. As a Lead Control Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing process automation solutions for our customers.

Our ideal candidate has extensive experience in control system engineering, preferably in bulk material handling or mineral processing industries. You should have strong leadership and project management capabilities, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead engineering design and development, including preparation of design and development specifications.
  • Develop PLC and advanced process control (APC) applications, HMI, and SCADA systems.
  • Design machine process architecture and control system architecture.
  • Develop and maintain Metso's standard product portfolio according to the product roadmap and create tailored solutions for customers.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of Control Systems Engineers.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of industrial control system standards, best practices, and regulatory compliance.
  • Lead factory acceptance testing (FAT), commissioning, and troubleshooting of control systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical and electrical engineers, project managers, and clients, to deliver successful projects.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or a related Engineering field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in control system engineering, preferably in bulk material handling or mineral processing industries.
  • Strong leadership and project management capabilities with experience mentoring junior engineers.
  • Extensive knowledge of industrial process control design, network architecture, and MES/ERP integrations.
  • Proficiency in PLC programming, SCADA, and APC systems.
  • Experience in Rockwell and Siemens PLC development.
  • Expertise in AVEVA (Citect) SCADA development.
  • Hands-on experience with industrial fieldbus protocols and industrial instrumentation.
  • Knowledge of Siemens and Rockwell variable speed drives design and commissioning.
  • Proven experience with control system commissioning and factory acceptance testing.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
